To run a demo (for example, The Bot),

  1. Make sure you have the files ifl0.dll, core.bbx and bot.exe are (downloaded or otherwise) in the same directory.
  2. Run the application bot.exe.
  3. The Player, however, requires a couple of extremely convoluted steps in order to playback some MP3s:
    1. Make sure the Player is not running. If it is, quit it.
    2. You will need some MP3s.
    3. Use a text editor (eg winword.exe) to create a text file called mp3list.txt (in the same directory as the Player).
    4. Type in the fully pathed names of the MP3s you would like to listen to (eg f:\stash\mp3\sample.mp3)

When running a demo, you can try out the following:

Esc Press this to quit, unless you prefer ctrl+alt+del...
F1 This will cause the scene to be rendered in "smooth" mode, or "less blocky looking" mode.
F2 This will cause the scene to be rendered in "polygon" mode. Sometimes a scene looks better this way.
F3 This will cause the scene to be rendered in "toon" mode. This mode is pretty fashionable now, so give it a try.
F4 This will cause the scene to be rendered in "wireframe" mode, or "outline only" mode. Not very useful, except for nostalgia or to show that this is truly "3D" and not some snazzy "Quicktime VR" thing.
F12 Toggle between "full-screen" and "break-free" modes. Give it a try.
Up This will scale the scene up (make it bigger).
Down This will scale the scene down (make it smaller).
Drag You can move the object around the screen.
Shift + drag This will rotate the object in a confusing manner. Leave this alone if you are not adventurous enough.
